The main objective of this study was to assess the influence of electronic procurement on good
governance in public procurement practices a case of selected procuring entities in Mwanza City.
Specific objectives of the study, were to assess the influence of e-procurement on value for money
achievements in public procurement, to examine the contribution of e-procurement system on
transparency in public procurement, to determine the influence of e-procurement system on
competition in public procurement and lastly to examine the contribution of e-procurement system to
reduction of corruption in public procurement. This study adopted descriptive research design. The
total population was 650 employees of IRDP, MWAUWASA and Mwanza City Council from which
the study used a sample size of 86 respondents. Purposive sampling technique was used to select
respondents. Data analysis was done by the use of the descriptive statistics and inferential statistics in
which the Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20 was used in data entry and
management and analysis. Ordinal logistic Regression analysis was used to assess the association
between independent and dependent variables. Findings indicated that, there is the positive significant
association between e-procurement and good governance in public procurement as the analysis
indicated that variables tested were significant implying that the achievement of value for money in
public procurement, transparency in public procurement, enhancement of competition in public
procurement and reduction of corruption in public procurement enhances good governance in public
procurement. The study concluded that electronic procurement influences good governance in public
procurement practices. The study recommends that all other procuring entities especially public
institution should implement e-procurement because there are so many benefits to be realized when
