<title>Integrating Business Hubs into Higher Education Institutions Curricula in Tanzania</title>

<description>Integrating Business Hubs into Higher Education Institutions Curricula in Tanzania
Kileo, Emmanuel J.; Metili, Lois-Singa; Kulindwa, Yusuph J.; Sing’ambi, Athanas
Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) all over the world are regarded as critical players &#13;
in teaching, learning, community services and engagement. They are considered focal &#13;
points in knowledge and skills acquisition and dissemination. They play a key role as &#13;
community knowledge hubs and centres of excellence, not only by identifying community &#13;
challenges but also by devising suitable mechanisms to address these needs. Toigo et al. &#13;
(2020) and Angrisan (2023) opine that the educational landscape, particularly in Higher &#13;
Education Institutions (HEIs), is rapidly changing and becoming more dynamic in the face &#13;
of continued growth in its efforts to maintain its position as a focal point for teaching &#13;
and learning by providing community services, promoting engagement and becoming &#13;
a knowledge hub capable of addressing complex community challenges. As they try to &#13;
maintain their position in the community, HEIs have started to embrace campus hubs as &#13;
dynamic spaces which enhance creativity, collaboration, networking and entrepreneurial &#13;
spirit among students, academic staff and community members.

<title>Seeds Innovation Cultivating the Synergy that Fosters New Ideas</title>

<description>Seeds Innovation Cultivating the Synergy that Fosters New Ideas
Tiruhungwa, R.M
One of the many dimensions along which a lucid difference can be observed between any two persons &#13;
is the extent of the gap that exists between one's 'actions-in-the-head' and his 'actions-on-the-ground'. &#13;
Yet, it is this very dimension that helps to underline one key similarity among people. All human &#13;
beings do have 'actions in their heads' (ideas) and, at least, do translate some of these ideas into action &#13;
('actions-on-the-ground'). It is the gap, referred to above, that makes the difference. How many ideas &#13;
does one have 'in the head' at any time, and how many of these (ideas) are actually put into practice? &#13;
It is not the number or type of ideas, but the actions thereof which bring forth 'innovation'.

<description>Extension in rural communities by Savile, A.H. (1978).a manual for agriculture and home extension workers-oxford university press, 1978. ISBN 019-8594-062: 148PP.
Kimaro, Prosper J.
Savile (1978) has managed to come up with this book Extension in Rural Communities which gives theoretical and practical knowledge to community advisors and extension workers. The author has developed impressive topics and sub-topics on Extension in Rural Communities which are applicable to developing and developed countries. The author has managed to share his practical and theoretical understandings on extension education for rural communities in order to create a global socio-economic transformation. This transformation intends to create conducive and enabling environment for sustainable rural development by critically taking into consideration issues encompassing agriculture, high standards of living, formation and running of co-operative societies, land reforms, organising farmers, rural community leadership and farm expansion. Therefore, this book “Extension in Rural Communities” is an important source which highlights critical and current issues impinging community members in their development process. Apart from increasing the knowledge base, providing policy-relevant and pushing forward development efforts, “Extension in Rural Communities Book” serves as a solid reference point for current and future scholars, extension workers, researchers and policy makers interested in rural development across the globe. Despite the strengths of this book; it has the following shortcomings: The arrangement of the chapters and sub-chapters lacks a good chronological order. At the same time, the author has put too much emphasis on agriculture and very little one on non-agricultural related economic activities. Furthermore, the author has been discussing about community programs and remained silent on community development project and finally, the entire book has been discussing on how to improve agricultural production and unfortunately nothing has been said on how to improve/secure markets for the agricultural produce.

<title>Organisations for Rural Development: Organisational and Management Aspects</title>
<link>http://repository.mocu.ac.tz/xmlui/handle/123456789/285</link>
<description>Organisations for Rural Development: Organisational and Management Aspects
Kazungu, Isaac; Machimu, Gervas M.
Rural development has recently gained extensive attention mainly in developing countries where the&#13;
substantial majority of the people live in rural areas and they essentially depend on farm activities.&#13;
The nexus between Rural and Co-operatives development is increasingly becoming important as most&#13;
rural inhabitants are engaged in agricultural sector which is anchored in co-operative associations.&#13;
This work gives a review of the book titled “Co-operative organisations for rural development:&#13;
organisational and management aspects” by Johannes Kuhn. The text gives the developmental&#13;
aspects of co-operative organisations and their implications in rural settings. The book is reviewed&#13;
with the intention to address the linkage between co-operatives and rural development. While the two&#13;
concepts have been widely studied as separate ideas, the nexus between them still needs a further&#13;
examination. The review identified the main weaknesses, strengths, ideas, concepts, gaps and future&#13;
research areas which might be of interest to policy makers, co-operators, researchers, university&#13;
students and lecturers in the field of co-operative business management, rural development, rural&#13;
financial inclusions, agricultural marketing co-operatives. Nonetheless, the inclusion of practical&#13;
cases from rural settings makes this book is an old wine which keeps on getting stronger as it&#13;
continues to serve as one of the most useful resource to students, researchers and rural development&#13;
experts in developing countries.
